The Renaissance.
About two weeks ago Sixth Class studied the fascinating era of “The Renaissance”. The time in History before the Renaissance was called “The Middle Ages”, where knights, castles and Gothic design were to the fore. The very famous artists Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo were born during the Renaissance. We mainly explored the origins of the Renaissance, the artists, writers, inventors and individuals who contributed to this period of history, by studying their paintings, sculptures and drawings. We even had the opportunity to see what it was like for Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel, lying on his back, as we had an art lesson where we had to lie on our backs, while attempting to draw our own versions of “The Last Supper”.
If you want to see more facts about the Renaissance come to our classroom.
