The Galway Primary Schools Cross Country Championships were held in Renmore Galway on 20 September last. Oisin Maher (2nd class) represented the school in the event.
As there was no event for 2nd class children, he was entered in the race for Boys in 3rd and 4th class throughout West Galway. 200 boys lined up at the start line for the race over 1km. Oisin ran a great race, finishing 6th. He then qualified for the overall Galway final.
That final was held on September 27, again in Renmore. On this occasion, Oisin finished 17th, another terrific result.
