On Thursday the 18th October a group of children from 6th class (Clifden A) and a group of children from 3rd,4th and 5th class (Clifden B) travelled to Letterfrack, along with Ms. Joyce and Ms Gibbons, to take part in the Connemara Sea Week Soccer Competition.
Clifden A and Clifden B were in two different divisions. Clifden B played very well as a team and the future is looking bright for soccer in our school. Clifden A managed to top their division by beating Claddaghduff and Eagles Nest National Schools. Next was a tough battle in the semi final against Tully National School, Clifden A fought hard and won that match. Clifden A then played the Connemara Sea Week Soccer Final against Lettergesh which they won well. Each member of the Clifden A team received a trophy and Jack Weesjes gave a great speech on behalf of the team when receiving his trophy.
A great day was had by all.
