Our 3rd class students were very busy last week as they prepared a wonderful letter to our very own President, Michael D Higgins.
As some of you may know President Higgins recently suggested that the children of Ireland should receive no homework from school and our 3rd class students wrote to him personally in response to his suggestion. Cleverly suggesting that not only will no homework ….”allow us to spend more quality time with family….” but also ….”cut the need for heavy bags each day….”. The children produced the letter themselves and even welcomed him to pop into visit Scoil Mhuire the next time he was in the area. Along with their letter, one of Ireland’s future artists Rebecca, drew a picture of President Higgins’ dogs Misneach and Bród as they watched over Clifden Castle. A brilliant idea by our 3rd class students-well done to each and every one of you!!
