Today Mr. Lee took 3rd class on an art trail in Clifden. The sun was shining and the children were really excited to see some of the exhibitions that are open during Arts Week. First of all, they had a look at different pieces of art work ranging from paintings and sculptures to photography. They chose their favourite pieces of art and then explained why it was their favourite one.
Next, 3rd class went to an exhibition which showcased the works of four different artists – Joe Hogan the basketweaver, the Moyard carpet collection and father and daughter duo Jimmy and Hetty Lawlor.
Kathleen Furey then met them outside and explained how she created prints based on her grandfather’s drawings.
Finally, Damien Manning talked the children through some of his pieces.
